Second Sermon in the New Series
On Sundays we are looking at heroes of faith to inspire us. Jesus says we who follow him are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Sometimes on Christmas Eve we hold a candle lighting ceremony. And we can see visibly the impact that even one small candle makes in a dark room. Amazingly, we are God's light, and our presence among our friends and neighbors and family shines more brightly in these sometimes dark times. Your life is God's vehicle for spreading hope and even joy. The Apostle Paul tells the Philippian Christians that he has learned to be content in any and all circumstances.
He says, "I can do all things in him who strengthens me".
This week, let's let our light shine.
Let's be faithful to share good things with those we talk to. Let's think of who hasn't heard from us in awhile
and give them a call.
Let's bring someone good news.
Let's love our neighbor.

See you Sunday!
In-Person Communion Service!
Last Sunday, September 20, 44 people went through the overhang in front of our now-closed church building and received Communion in sanitized sealed packets. We kept our bodies safe and our souls nourished by taking the Lord's Supper in sweet fellowship with one another. As we took our communion packets the Howard family directed cars to park in the parking lot facing the building. Some stayed in their cars, but many, as you can see in the pictures, got out to greet one another. What you can't see from the photos is the wonderful music that Sara and Richard Trammell provided us for the event. It was really beautiful and set the right atmosphere for our celebration and praise. We are planning on doing it again on October 18, so mark your calendars!
On August 17 Andy Stanley delivered an excellent message on the reasons for not rushing to re-open the church building. The message is entitled, "Not In It to Win It". Please take the time to listen to this helpful perspective.
