Let’s Celebrate!

May 23 is the Day of Pentecost.

It is the birthday of the church over 2,000 years ago.

It is also the day we plan to re-enter our church sanctuary, to give thanks, to sing praise, to commune with one another.

We know the pandemic is not over. But we believe it is now possible to be together in relative safety and health, and we are longing to be together! Next week we will be asking for volunteers to help us prepare the facilities for re-entry. After all, it has been over a year since we worshiped in our sanctuary. If you would be willing to help us, please contact Pastor Gregory by email or phone or text (see contact information below).

In the meantime, here are 3 things to think about:

1. We will want to protect those most vulnerable by wearing masks, keeping safe distances and washing / sanitizing our hands. We can remove our masks once seated

for worship, including singing and communion.

Let’s try to resist touching one another. Not everyone is vaccinated yet, and not everyone is without risk.

2. We could use some help changing AC filters

and other similar duties which will add to our safe environment. Consider volunteering if you can.

3. Let us invite our friends and neighbors

and family—and strangers! —to join us to celebrate the blessings of God! Our sanctuary is large and our congregation is smaller, so we can safely include whoever

wants to worship with us.

Jesus doesn't call everyone to follow him. If you don't need his help, don't bother yourself. If you aren't weary or burdened, why would you need him? If you consider yourself righteous, maybe even someone God doesn't have to worry about,

then go do something else. If you think the world is doing

well without God, what more can we say?

But....if you could use a hand, listen to his offer.

Treat for Mendez Teachers

May 11, 12, & 13

Mendez teachers will be doing Starr testing those dates.

If you would be interested in providing snacks for the break room on one of those days, contact Gregory. It would be a nice treat for them and a reminder to them that we support them in all that they do.

Please bring your treats to the church on Sunday!
