June 16, Second Sunday in the Season of Pentecost

Pentecost Sunday, June 9, was a grand celebration at First Christian Church.

During the celebration three were baptized:

Tom Ritchey, Vivienne Ritchey and Cora LaCoss.

Pentecost is "The Season of the Church," and continues

for 24 Sundays until the Season of Advent leads us to Christmas.

This Sunday, June 16, Prince Altom, our Associate Pastor will begin

a two-part sermon series title, "Why Do We Have The Church, Anyway."

My name is Taylor Goodman and I just graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Mass Comm. I am originally from Austin, Texas and in the Fall I will be moving to Brooklyn, New York to work with a college ministry called Cru. I am very outgoing and social, an 8 on the enneagram, and I am passionate about helping people see their potential, repairing broken relationships, and fighting for justice. I hope to one day be a marriage and family counselor, a writer, or a lawyer. In my free time, I like to go to the river, go on road trips and hangout with my friends!

Youth camps and the Disciples mission trip are

wonderful opportunities to prioritize our youth.

Here is how you can show them your support:

Mission trip needs: Please bring your cards for your student this Sunday,

give them to Gael! (at the latest Wednesday).

Remember to pray for the trip in advance and during the week, June 23-29.

Camp participants: Please pray for our campers - for their relationship with Jesus to grow, safety, vital friendships, ways to put what they learn into action at home, for us and their families to nurture that growth,

and whatever God lays on your heart.

CYF Camp is June 9-15

Eighters Camp is June 16-22

JYF Camp is June 25-29

The Disciples mission trip to Springfield, MO is June 23-29
